BMS Results Sem VI, 2011

STAFF REPORTER

Mumbai The long- awaited wait for results of Bachelor of Mass Media ( BMM), Bachelor of Management Studies ( BMS) and other courses will soon end as the examination department of Mumbai University is likely to declare results by July 15. Unrest among students with regards to delay in results has now gone beyond college campus with students mentioning the delay in results on social networking websites.

Khushi Shah, a student of K. G. Joshi- Bedekar College in Thane said, Its high time that the university is still in the procedure of declaring results. First of all we did not have a single holiday during the examination, so there was no gap between two papers. The introduction of the new bar- coding system is surely welcome, however it is a bit time consuming. She further added, The delay in the declaration of the result is acting as an obstacle for our further admissions.

I have applied for my postgraduate course but have been denied admission since I am yet to receive my graduation result. This delay is directly affecting my career.

Many students who are seeking good jobs in prominent companies are not being admitted into the company due to these delayed results. Several people have blamed the new Optical Magnetic Reading ( OMR) machinates for being the prime reason for the delay. Commenting on this Prof. Vilas Shinde, Controller of Examinations said, We are trying our level best to declare the results as early as possible.

We will be declaring results of BMM, BMS and other courses by July 15
There is no point in blaming the infrastructure for the delay. At present, there are eight machines installed to check the papers and hence it is taking time. University is in the procedure of installing a few more machines to speed up the procedure. Every new system takes its time to build a firm base in any institution.

We are of the opinion that by next year results will be declared well in advance.
